Careers — Open role

Merchant Onboarding & Banking Specialist

Contract · ~4 hours per week · €1,000 per month · Remote — Bulgaria or Poland

About the role

Get clients approved — done right

Checkoutbooks is the financial back office for e-commerce brands: bookkeeping, sales tax and payments in one flat monthly service. Part of what we do is get clients approved with the right payment processor and business bank — fast, and done right, on the client's own entity with a clean beneficial-ownership file.

This is a focused, part-time contract role: around four hours a week, fully remote — work from home on your own schedule, easily alongside other freelance clients or a main job. What it isn't is a low-skill gig: you own the accuracy of each application from first document to final approval, so we're after someone who already knows merchant onboarding and business banking.

What you'll do

Own onboarding, end to end

  • Manage merchant onboarding for our clients across processors and acquirers (Stripe, Adyen, Square and specialist high-risk acquirers)
  • Prepare and quality-check underwriting files: business documents, processing history, and beneficial-ownership (UBO) and KYC/KYB documentation
  • Match each client to the processor and acquirer that actually accepts their profile and volume
  • Guide clients through opening business bank and payment accounts in their own name
  • Be the point of contact with our acquiring-bank and PSP partners, and track applications to approval
  • Own the accuracy and completeness of every client's KYC and beneficial-ownership file
What you bring

The right background

  • 2+ years in payments, fintech, merchant onboarding, PSP/acquiring or business banking operations
  • A working understanding of KYC/KYB, AML and underwriting — you know what a clean file looks like
  • Fluent written and spoken English is required — it's our working language and how you'll deal with clients, acquirers and banks
  • Comfortable owning a process and chasing applications across multiple parties
  • Self-directed — this is a part-time contract, so you manage your own four hours well
