You sell.
We do the numbers.
Bookkeeping, sales tax and payments for online stores — one flat monthly fee. From Stripe payout to state filing, and from processor contract to merchant ID, without you ever reconciling a thing.
An e-commerce administration is not a normal administration
Your payout never matches your revenue
Fees, refunds and chargebacks are deducted before the money hits your account. Figuring out which orders sit in which payout costs you hours every week.
Marketplaces pay out net, the IRS sees gross
Your 1099-K reports unadjusted gross sales. Book only the net payouts and your books diverge from what the IRS already knows — the classic trigger for an unpleasant letter.
You've paid the same processing rates for years
Most stores never renegotiate their processor contract. As your volume grows, flat-rate pricing quietly costs you thousands of dollars a year.
One team for your entire money flow

Learn more →Sales tax & nexus
Economic nexus, marketplace facilitator rules, registrations and filings across states — and EU VAT when you expand across the Atlantic.
Learn more →Payments & merchant accounts
The right processor, the right rates, the right payment methods — and we arrange your processor contract or merchant ID (MID) for you, underwriting included.
Learn more →Built for the way you sell
Every sales channel has its own money flow — and its own bookkeeping traps. We know them, because e-commerce is all we do.
DTC & Shopify brands
Your own store, your own checkout. We reconcile Stripe and Shopify Payments payouts, keep your COGS honest, and make sure your processing rates grow down as your volume grows up.
Checkoutbooks for Shopify →Marketplace sellers
Amazon, Etsy and TikTok Shop pay out net, but the IRS sees gross. We book settlements the right way, so your books match the 1099-K your marketplace files.
Checkoutbooks for marketplaces →Subscriptions & digital products
Recurring billing means deferred revenue, failed charges and involuntary churn. We set up the billing and the bookkeeping so both tell the same story.
Payments for subscriptions →Hard-to-place industries
Supplements, coaching, travel, digital goods: industries processors label high risk. We know which acquirers actually accept them and get the underwriting file right the first time.
High-risk merchant accounts →We work in the stack you already use

Sorted in three steps
Intro & scan
We analyze your current books and payment costs. Free and without obligation — you always leave with concrete advice.
Setup & connect
We connect your store, processor and accounting software. Any backlog gets cleaned up first, at a fixed price agreed upfront.
Handled, every month
A dedicated contact, a flat monthly fee, cancelable monthly. You watch along in real-time dashboards.
What working with us looks like
Independent by design
We take no commissions or kickbacks from processors. When we tell you to switch — or to stay and renegotiate — that advice is based on your numbers, not on a partner deal.
One team for the whole money flow
Your bookkeeper knows your payment setup, and your payments advisor reads your books. No more explaining your business twice, and no gaps between the two.
A dedicated contact, not a ticket queue
You get one person who knows your store, answers within one business day, and joins a call when a call is faster than an email thread.
Numbers you can act on
Real-time dashboards, a monthly close you can rely on, and a yearly rate check against the market. You see what we see.
Visa tightened its chargeback rules. Is your ratio safe?
Under Visa's new acquirer monitoring program (VAMP), fraud and non-fraud disputes now count toward one combined ratio — and the thresholds keep tightening. Merchants who ignored their dispute rate for years are suddenly at risk of penalties, reserves or account termination. We check where you stand and bring the ratio down.
Frequently asked questions
What does Checkoutbooks cost per month?
Our plans start at $249 per month and run up to $899 for high-volume, multichannel stores. Everything is cancelable monthly, with no notice-period tricks. See the pricing page for the full comparison.
Do I need to switch accounting software?
No. We work in the software you already use: QuickBooks Online or Xero. We only recommend a change if your current setup genuinely holds back your growth — and then we handle the migration.
Can you arrange a payment processor or merchant account for me?
Yes. We select the right processor for your transaction mix, prepare the application and underwriting file, and get you approved — including a dedicated merchant ID (MID) where that fits, and placement for industries that processors label as high risk.
Does this work with Amazon, TikTok Shop and Etsy?
Absolutely — marketplace accounting is one of our specialties. We book your gross revenue correctly and record referral fees, FBA fees and advertising as expenses, so your books match the 1099-K your processor files with the IRS.
Can I really cancel monthly?
Yes. No annual contract, no fine print. We want to keep clients because the work is good, not because a contract locks them in.
Curious how much you overpay in processing fees?
Send us your latest processor statement and transaction mix. Within three business days you get a report with your savings potential. Free, no strings attached — you get the report even if you never become a client.
